The ICB Conducts Unclassified Research
Research sponsored through the Institute for Collaborative Biotechnologies is completely unclassified, and is conducted in an open and fundamental research environment. ICB research results are widely and openly disseminated via publication in the scientific and popular literature without restrictions of any kind. No weapons research is conducted by the ICB.

ICB 2008 Research Internships in Science and Engineering
The Institute for Collaborative Biotechnologies (ICB) Summer Research Internship in Science and Engineering at UCSB brings science and engineering majors from all over the country to UCSB for a summer research experience. Interns are partnered with a mentor of similar interest, conduct research in our state-of-the-art laboratories, attend weekly meetings and special seminars, and develop presentation skills.

Professor Angela M. Belcher from MIT will Speak November 16, 2007, 3:00-4:00 pm at the Rathmann Auditorium
UCSB alumna and MIT coordinator for the ICB, Professor Angela Belcher will present, From Nature and Back Again: Giving New Life to Materials for Energy, Electronics, the Environment and Medicine. In addition to Professor Belcher’s recent recognition by Scientific American she is the recipient of the prestigious MacArthur Foundation "genius" fellowship for her extraordinary work in bionanotechnology. In 2005 she was one of ten women honored in Mass High Tech’s “10 Women to Watch” in technology and science. In June 2006 the UCSB Alumni Association presented Belcher with a Distinguished Achievement Award. Visit Belcher's Biomolecular Materials Lab
