Biological Engineering

Research Interests:

Research in synthetic biology, biotechnology, and genetic design. Developing a basis by which cells can be programmed like robots to perform complex, coordinated tasks. Engineering new sensors that give bacteria the senses of touch, sight, and smell. Building genetic circuits to integrate signals from various sensors and to control cellular processes.
